Sign & Digital UK’s organiser Faversham House targets B Corp status with Seismic partnership

Faversham House has partnered with sustainability consultancy Seismic to support its mission of becoming a certified B Corporation.

The independent media company, which operates brands across the sustainability, utilities, and visual communications industries, has embarked upon the B Corp journey as part of its aim to be a force for good among its employees, audiences, suppliers and the environment.

Sustainability and B Corp experts Seismic will guide Faversham House through the rigorous certification process, which includes an in-depth assessment – the B Impact Assessment – into the impacts of its day-to-day operations and business model.

Faversham House chief executive Amanda Barnes said: “As a progressive, independent media group trusted by thousands of professionals, we work hard to have a positive impact on people’s lives and the environment. The B Corp movement reflects our deep-rooted belief that one can do business and be a force for good at the same time, and we’re excited to be working with Seismic on our certification journey.”

Seismic is an international team of impact experts on a mission to help businesses prosper by becoming increasingly impactful forces for good. In addition to its broad corporate sustainability experience, Seismic has developed some of the deepest B Corp expertise in the UK and across Europe, having helped dozens of companies leverage the B Corp framework to understand, improve, measure and communicate their impact.

Seismic co-founder and chief executive Paul Lewis said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Faversham House on their B Corp journey. edie is a central source of news on sustainability in this critical time. We‘re looking forward to making meaningful change together and I couldn’t think of a more perfect partner to shine a light on the B Corp movement.”

With more than 4,000 certified B Corporations across 153 industries, the B Corp movement strives for the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Over the past five years, the B Corp movement has been joined by the likes of Danone UK, innocent drinks, Coutts and Jamie Oliver Group.

Webinars and masterclasses

To support other businesses on their B Corp journey, Faversham House’s media brand edie and Seismic will be running a series of free webinars and masterclasses which will explore how the certification process works and the potential business benefits.

The first will be a one-hour webinar taking place on Thursday 7 October, bringing together some of the inspirational leaders and experts who have gone through the certification process and are actively making business a force for good.

edie will share its own insights and updates during the webinar, as Faversham House continues along the B Corp certification progress. Find out more and register for edie's free B Corp webinar here.
