Organisers of Sign & Digital UK 2013, the annual trade show for signmakers and graphic display professionals, have reported that the show was once again a big success with exhibitors reporting brisk sales across the three days. So much so that onsite stand sales for the 2014 show increased by 44% as exhibitors rushed to secure the best positions for next year’s event. 5,649 unique visitors (ABC audited) attended the three day event form the 30th April to 2nd May, at the NEC, Birmingham.
The exhibition was a platform for many new UK and European wide format print and imaging product launches from big names such as Roland DG, Hybrid Services/Mimaki, Epson, Mutoh, MTEX, DYSS and Zund.
Rudi Blackett, Event Director for the show commented: ‘’Our ‘New Business’ theme for the show was particularly well received with some seminar sessions left with standing room only. Key topics ranged from Marketing, PR, Business Development, Digital Signage, Direct to Garment printing and Social Media. Exhibitors also embraced the theme with a wide range of product launches, new revenue stream ideas and business opportunities.’’
Exhibitors reported higher sales and enquiries:
“The show was a real success for Roland again this year. This exhibition is a key component of our annual calendar and once again it’s lived up to our high expectations.” Brett Newman, Technical Director, Roland DG.
“The 2013 edition of Sign & Digital UK was a very strong show for Hybrid Services Ltd. There was vibrancy to the event and visitors were keen to engage – seeking out new application ideas and revenue streams as well as investing in technology. Our resellers enjoyed strong sales and as a platform to launch three very important Mimaki printers to the UK and Irish market, it proved highly effective.“ Duncan Jefferies, Marketing Manager, Hybrid Services Ltd
“For DPI the one factor that really stuck in our minds this year was the quality of visitors to the show and we have already signed up for 2014 and look forward to an even larger stand next year.” Stewart Bell, MD, Digital Print Innovations Ltd (DPI)
“Esko's decision to participate in Sign and Digital this year was a difficult one, with FESPA arriving in London just 7 weeks from the closing of the doors at Sign & Digital UK, and we were not sure if we could justify exhibiting at both shows. We went ahead with S&D and experienced a 60% increase in leads over 2012's S&D UK, which was amazing.” Paul Bates, Esko Business Manager UK & Eire.
Jason Burroughs, MD of Perfect Colours also boasted strong sales on their Hewlett Packard signage products. ‘’Our goal for the show was to sell solutions, but also to meet with Print Providers. On both counts our goal was achieved helped in part by the great variety of attendees from a diverse group of industries.”
