 You might think this a bit early but we are only 4 months off showtime…! This is a quick reminder that you need to start thinking about your PR and marketing activities surrounding next year’s Sign & Digital UK.

As the show is the end of March 2012, a lot of the trade press have deadlines for information, advertising and PR as early as early February for the show preview issues so you really do need to start thinking now about what you want to say about your company is showcasing at the exhibition. The Jan/Feb issues of the trade magazines will need text/copy to them by end of December - now that's only round the corner!

To make the most of the time available, why not try to think of two press releases in the run up to the show to try to start to build momentum and a bit of a "buzz" around your offerings. Think about competitions, product launches, workshops, seminars, demonstrations, new sales promotions tied in to the show and maybe even a free refreshment on your stand? It all helps to create a story or a news piece that the reader will find interesting.

Don't worry if you haven't got a trade press list, you can send any of your Sign & Digital UK related press and news stories to us here and we can send them out with our show updates to our list of media contacts and freelance journalists.

Hints & Tips:

-Remember to upload your press releases to the Exhibitor Zone on the show website ASAP (Early Feb 2012 at the latest).

-Please think about what you upload as we will want to use this information to create show update news for the press.

-What can we use? Keep it short, concise (up to 300 words preferably) with a picture.

-What not to do? Don't upload specification sheets or "cut and paste" huge sections of technical documents.

-Try to just include the main reasons why people should visit your stand.

-If you must put a product spec on there, keep it to one or two sentences that highlight the benefits/USPs.

-In addition, you can help promote your company by adding the show logo, dates and/or stand number to your website, email signature and/or any ads you are running in the trade press / online.
